Welcome to Peabar Scottisch Terriers
---

All of my life I have been inspired by the purebred dogs. The first one was a French Brittany (Epagneul Breton), Boi. He was my Grandmother's dog and lived to a great age. I made my first steps along him and stepped into the world - with dog. When I was a bit older my mum got a beautiful Irish Setter Flip.

Unfortunately he left our family too soon. Few years later I got a long-ear Basset Hound, Jara, who was the queen of my heart. She was a great mummy to Aramis, which we kept. Aramis was the first dog I took in the show ring, stepping into my mother shoes and started enjoying shows. I was around 12 years at that time and I devoured books about dogs and I spent my free time helping in the Kennel Club of Koper.
After finishing the university, I went back to dogs with the intention of finding the perfect breed for me. I knew that I wanted a smaller breed with a big personality. As my research continued, I became absolutely enchanted by the Scottish Terriers. Under the mentorship of a very special lady, Marina Guidetti (Balgair Scottish Terriers), I was given the opportunity to acquire from Betty Smit-Kamerbeek my foundation bitch, Lucia's Dream Swan Valentine who made a name of herself as a show dog and later on in the whelping box.

At that time my husband was breeding Airedale Terriers and Sealyham Terriers under the kennel name Shadow of Aire. Between the years 1991 and 2004, his dogs won many titles; 4 x European, 3 x World many International and also one American champion. He was perfecting his knowledge at one of leading dog handlers in the USA - Gabriel Rangel and participated in greatest Dog Show events in America. By participating in shows almost throughout the whole year he won some great triumphs. Let me list just some of them: Winners Dog at the Montgomery County Weekend - CH Showtime v. d. Locher Muehle - Timey, Winners Dog at the Special AT Show in California, in the Terrier group with the Australian Terrier Yaralla Smart Alec, and presented BOB Sealyham at the Westminster CH Farday Trace My Track (you can find more about him under Handling). We fell in love while he was teaching me how to groom and show a Scottish Terrier and we got married a year after. We have full time jobs and we keep a relatively small number of adult dogs and a puppy or two to be potential show dogs. All this keeps us very busy so we generally have just one litter a year. Matej is the president of the Terrier Club of Slovenia where we are very active in organizing Breeding Commissions, National Terrier Specialties and Annual club meetings. We are also members of the STBEA and STCA.

They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace."
